Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center committed to reducing cancer death and suffering through:

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, our center lies in the "buckle" of the "cancer belt" – seven contiguous states with the highest death rates from cancer. Our job is not done until those statistics are changed.
Cancer is too big a problem to be solved by one cancer center. Through our participation in the network of National Cancer Institute-designated centers, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and other local, regional and national collaborations, we are dedicated to being a partner with others who share our mission.
Who We Are
Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is a leader in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The center's world-renowned team of experts provides an integrated, personalized and patient-centered approach to cancer care, including treatment, research, support, education and outreach. From a wide variety of wellness programs to a leading REACH for Survivorship Clinic, patients find support from diagnosis through survivorship. Vanderbilt-Ingram is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of just two centers in Tennessee and 51 in the country to earn this highest distinction, and ranks in the top 10 nationwide for cancer research grant support.

Built on a Rich Legacy of Cancer Research
Vanderbilt University Medical Center has been at the forefront of groundbreaking cancer research and treatment for decades. This history includes the work of Nobel laureates Earl Sutherland and Stanley Cohen, whose research in cell communication, growth and dissemination are the foundation of many of today's breakthroughs in cancer treatment. It also included the cornerstone support of the Henry and Joyce families and the A.B. Hancock Jr. families, who had established a clinical care and research center and a laboratory focused on cancer prevention.
OUR HISTORY
The Vanderbilt Cancer Center was formally established in 1993 to bring together all cancer-related research, treatment, education, and outreach at Vanderbilt. The Vanderbilt Cancer Center was the youngest center to go from creation to designation by the NCI, the world's foremost authority on cancer.
Executive Leadership Team
The Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is led by a director, a deputy director, and team of associate center directors representing all aspects of the Center. A Cancer Clinical Enterprise Committee oversees strategy and decision-making for the clinical operations of the center. Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is also guided by a volunteer community Board of Overseers and external scientific advisory board.
