Profile
My research program focuses on development of translational technologies for in vivo tissue reparative
biomaterials, drug controlled release, targeted drug delivery, and nonviral, intracellular delivery of biologics.
Much of my lab’s work is focused on biomaterials incorporating environmentally-sensitive polymers that improve
intracellular-acting drug bioavailability and/or that release cargo or degrade in response to pathologically-relevant
environmental stimuli. My lab mostly focuses on applications for treatment of a variety of different inflammationdriven
ailments such as chronic and infected skin wounds (active R01 EB028690 and NCE R01 EB019409;
active collaborative R01 DK122147), vascular disease (NCE R01 HL122347), osteoarthritis (active R21
AR078636, R21 AR079245), and degenerative eye diseases (active collaborative R01 EY022349), in addition
to work on undruggable targets in triple negative breast cancer (active R01 CA224241 and R01CA260958).
