Dr. Jiang has been actively engaged in the developments and applications of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for over 15 years, with a strong focus on developing quantitative imaging techniques in translational and clinical studies to improve patient outcomes. Throughout my career, I have dedicated my efforts to advancing the field of MRI and its utility in assessing pathological changes in tissue microstructures.

Since joining the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science (VUIIS) in 2013, I have played a leading role in the program focused on utilizing imaging biomarkers, specifically MRI-derived cell size and cell density, to evaluate changes in cancerous tissues. My collaboration with Dr. Xu has been instrumental in the development of a novel extension of diffusion MRI, referred to MRI cytometry, enabling us to accurately quantify changes in average cell size and density associated with treatment-induced cell death and/or cell cycle progression in solid tumors.
